Mission & History

To provide dogs and cats, in eastern Madera County, the services they need to increase their adoptability and to provide a safe and loving environment until they find their forever home.

A better world through kindness to animals.

The Eastern Madera County SPCA (EMCSPCA) was established in 1990 and is dedicated to ensuring the humane treatment of all animals in eastern Madera County. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for unwanted, abandoned and mistreated pets until they can be placed into loving homes. Construction is underway on the 8000 square-foot Animal Care and Adoption Center. Expected to open in 2022, the state-of- the-art shelter will provide a unique, healthy environment for dogs and cats awaiting adoption. These accomplishments happen without any federal, state, or county funding. The EMCSPCA is a local, independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and is supported through private contributions.  We are not affiliated with Madera County Animal Control, any other SPCA or Humane Society. All donations to the EMCSPCA help animals of eastern Madera County.

The Eastern Madera County SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) will always work to protect the privacy of our donors. We hold all donor information in strict confidence and will not sell or exchange any donor information to any other organization. We will only use your information to contact you regarding your donation, to update you on our progress, and inform you of any upcoming EMCSPCA related events or fundraising campaigns. Please let us know at any time if you would like to receive fewer communications from us or no further communications and we will honor your request.
