Every year, countless rescued animals are in need of immediate lifesaving care due to cruelty, neglect and/or lack of veterinary services. The Wishbone Fund has been established to provide these sick, injured, and abused animals with a second chance at life. The fund was named after Wishbone, a dog we pulled from Madera County Animal Services...just to give him a little love and a peaceful passing. It was evident he had a horrible life. Our goal was to give him a few ways in a clean and warm enviroment with humans who would show him there are good people. Wishbone learned what love is and had almost three months with us before crossing the Rainbow Bridge.
Each of these critical animals is provided with the following veterinary services:
- Veterinary evaluations, upon arrival.
- Critical care veterinary support.
- Medications and vaccines, as needed.
- Lifesaving surgeries for animals arriving with severe, critical injuries.
- Emergency off-site 24-hour veterinary care for animals who simply cannot wait until the morning.
- Care and monitoring as needed. If possible they may go to foster care, or even a short-term home.
Donations may be made specifically for the Wishbone Fund and will be held to help animals like Wishbone who never knew what it was like to be loved before coming to the Center.
